Ariel Atom
When asked about their homeland for sports cars, most of the local fans of fast driving will probably name Italy or Germany. The UK is probably one of the last elections.
Probably no motoring fan will pass indifferently to the possibility of driving a car that accelerates to “hundreds” in less than 3 seconds, and its eight-cylinder engine develops the power of as much as 500 horsepower. And when you add to that the fact that the car was produced in the Islands, the proposal itself takes on an additional flavor!
The fact that this is not a distinguished sports limousine, known for movies about the adventures of Agent 007, but a car that looks more like a go-kart than any other car, adds to the spice of spice.
Atomic missile
The car is called Ariel Atom, a unique sports car. It is a product of the little-known company Ariel Works, based in Somerset, which, however, has a quite rich history – the first sports car model developed by Ariel was presented in the year … 1908. So you can say that Atom has quite deep roots!
The model, on the other hand, was first presented in 1996, although it was really famous for its Top Gear TV show, namely its 5th series, broadcast in 2004. Both the rider Jeremy Clarkson and the famous Stig (an anonymous driver in a white suit) definitely appreciated the advantages of the vehicle, emphasizing, among other things, excellent handling and incredible acceleration.
It eats corners!
As for driving, it’s hard to have any reservations about Atom. Thanks to its rather specific construction (the body of some people may resemble childhood “racing” springs), the car stays on the road like a glued-on one.
With us, you can drive the Atom at an affordable price – driving from as low as $149!
Whoever sits at the helm of Ariel may feel that this is the car with which the driver communicates instinctively. A small steering wheel movement is all it takes to get the car in the direction you want it to go.
Market situation
Interestingly, the slightly polite version of Ariel Atom can be bought freely in the UK. The car is equipped with a four-cylinder VTEC (Variable Camera Phase) drive unit. In this specification, the car develops 245 horsepower and a hundred in 3.12 seconds! The maximum speed is as much as 233 kilometres per hour, which with such a car design is still a dizzying result for the driver.
Here are some more technical details about this car.
Attention – these are the data of the production version, to be purchased in the UK for 38 thousand pounds (over 210 thousand USD). The “track” version is slightly stronger – as already mentioned, it is equipped with a V8 engine.

Are you sure? When describing Ariel Atom, it is worth mentioning that it was in the former British Empire that the world’s motorsport grew up. Racing in India in 1905 was one of the first officially organized events related to motor sport. In addition, the Rally of Great Britain is one of the most prestigious events of its kind in the world!
And although the examples mentioned above concern events that Ariel Atom would not fit in well with, it is worth remembering that the British also have petrol in their blood!
